Eating Disorder Therapist Position

MVFT provides excellent integrated outpatient care to children, teens, and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder and related disorders. We offer both individual and family-based treatment. Ideal candidates are curious about continuing their growth as a therapist and want to be part of a warm collegial team. MVFT therapists are committed to excellence and value being part of a highly collaborative clinical team that supports and learns from one another. The position is in-person, Monday through Friday with an option to offer weekend sessions. Hours are flexible and must include a minimum of two afternoon/evenings.  

Primary responsibilities:

  • Evaluate & treat children/adolescents & adults with eating disorders.  
  • Actively collaborate with other professionals (e.g., dietitian, psychiatrist, and primary care) to provide integrated psychological care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.  
  • Implement empirically based treatment modalities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with people diagnosed with an eating disorder.
  • Virginia license or be working toward licensure (supervision provided).
  • Training in evidence-based therapies for the treatment of eating disorders 
  • An interest in learning about Family Based Therapy for eating disorders

This is a W-2 staff position. In addition to competitive pay, we offer 3% retirement match, flexible schedule, paid time off, CEU and licensing fee reimbursement. We want our clinicians to concentrate on providing quality therapy, so we provide administrative support for scheduling and most administrative tasks.  We also provide learning opportunities, consultation and collaboration between therapists and supervision for licensure if needed.
