Kristin Orbin, MA-CMHC
Resident in Counseling

Kristin is passionate about working with littles and tweens! She specializes in autism, ADHD, trauma, OCD, and anxiety. She also holds space for clients who have experienced religious trauma and abuse while coming out as LGBTQIA in conservative environments.

Counseling through a multicultural, trauma-informed lens, she utilizes the following evidence-based therapeutic approaches: EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, family systems, somatic, and solution-focused techniques. She also offers play, art, and creative journaling, as well as group therapy.

A therapeutic environment is one that embodies safety, acceptance, and listening with intention. Kristin is an advocate for social justice and wants her clients to know that no matter who they are and what their experiences have been, they deserve to feel safe, and that safe spaces are vital to healing. Sessions often involve her “co-counselor,” Elly the elephant, a puppet that embraces the teachings of love, boundaries, and healing ooey gooey emotions.

Kristin identifies as a queer, neuro-spicey, Resident in Counseling. She earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in 2024, and is currently completing residency hours for Virginia licensure. She is under the supervision of Tati Rodriguez, LPC.
