Eating Disorder Clinician

Mount Vernon Family Therapy is Hiring Eating Disorder Clinicians to Join Our Practice!

As an eating disorder specialist who works with kids, teens, and young adults there is nothing more frustrating than knowing that you can only do so much in the therapy room.  You are someone who wants to help your clients reach lasting 100% full recovery, but you don’t always know how to get them there.  You are unsure how to effectively engage parents so they can provide your clients support outside of sessions.  At Mount Vernon Family Therapy we are going to give you the support you need to provide effective wholistic treatment and we’re going to give you additional training so your young clients can have awesome outcomes.

MVFT provides excellent integrated outpatient care to children, teens, and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder and related disorders. We offer both individual and family-based treatment.  Ideal candidates will have training or interest in learning how to include parents in the treatment process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate children/adolescents with eating disorders and their families.
  • Actively collaborate with other professionals (e.g., dietitian, psychiatrist, and primary care) to provide integrated psychological care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement empirically based treatment modalities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Based Treatment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

Requirements:

Clinicians who are independently licensed as Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT are preferred, but candidates who are licensed-eligible in Virginia will also be considered.  We have opportunities for full-time and part-time work schedules. Candidate must be curious about continuing their personal and professional growth as a therapist and be willing to be part of a warm collegial team.

We offer excellent compensation – as a W-2 employee you do not have to worry about independent contractor business set up or payroll taxes! We believe that our clinicians should enjoy their careers, so MVFT strives to provide fair compensation, autonomy over scheduling & vacation time, and support for peer consultation and career growth. We want our clinicians to concentrate on providing quality therapy, so we provide administrative support for scheduling and most administrative tasks.  Attendance at twice monthly staffing & peer supervision group on Wednesday morning is required.

Next Steps:

Interested candidates should submit a Cover Letter and a Curriculum Vitae or Resume to Jennifer McEwan, Ph.D., at DrMcEwan@MountVernonTherapy.com.
